I’ve been plugging away at gardening this 3 acre property outside of Tamarindo since 2014 and lived in Guanacaste for 15 years all the while putting up a vegetable garden of varying ambitions at each home. Guanacaste is first and foremost a farming community, However for us Guanacaste gardeners accustomed to gardening in Northeastern climates the climate presents many new challenges. 6 months of dry and super hot then 6 months of often monsoon like rain make it tough going. Some of us die hards keep on plugging with our vegetable gardens. With 3 new acres devoted solely to cultivating fruits and vegetables outside of Tamarindo this feature is devoted to my efforts there. Anybody with a green thumb will want to check in once in a while to see how things are growing or stop by for fresh heirloom tomatoes sweet corn and fresh herbs. We will continue to add Our local providers and our locally sourced meat and dairy products are currently available at the farm. Stay tuned as we add local providers

With many years of effort under my belt vegetable gardening in Guanacaste its time to get serious. This gardening blog began in November of 2018 upon my return home to Costa Rica after an unexpected 3 years back in the states. Its good to be back in the garden.
