Who We Are.....
Keith and Al Toney first visited Playa Junquillal, Costa Rica, in 2001. Immediately they felt an intensely strong connection and began planning how they would one day be able to call this amazing place "home". They visited each year over the next 7 years until they finally found the property that was meant for them. They named their home Casa de Mañana because for them it was their dream home of tomorrow, and their future destination to retire.
Casa de Mañana was a vacation rental for 13 years. By offering their home to fund raising events for numerous charities and organizations through their Casa Gives Back! donation program, the Casa has helped generate over $300,000 that has gone directly to the organizations that the Toney's had personally chosen to support. The program has far exceeded their expectations, and now that the Toney's finally reside in Casa de Mañana, the Casa Gives Back! program carries on with a list of other properties that are now available.
When COVID-19 became a global pandemic in 2020, and fund raising events and international travel screeched to a halt, the Toney's realized they would need to reinvent themselves once again. Unexpectedly, they found themselves being contacted by people from all over, many of whom were former guests of the Casa, inquiring if there were any properties for sale in Playa Junquillal. They soon realized that there were many properties that had been available for many years, and they still remained unsold. It seemed the local Realtors had properties listed for multiple years, yet they were barely being shown, let alone being sold. They determined the Playa Junquillal community was being neglected while local Realtors focused their attention on more popular areas, such as Tamarindo. Soon Casa de Mañana Properties became an official entity, and their signs began popping up all over the community. However, the Toney's know that it takes more than just a sign to sell a property. They are very hands on with everything they do, and that approach is what has always brought them success. They are currently selling properties faster than they can get them on their website, and in one case while the sign was being put in the ground!
The Toney's are elated to see their community thriving in spite of the pandemic. Another unexpected occurrence is that with every property they sell, they have another property that needs to be renovated, managed and rented. This enables them to continue providing work to their local community. Throughout the pandemic they have supervised numerous projects, like painting an entire 3-story house inside and out, bathroom and kitchen renovations, construction of additional bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as making all of the purchases of new supplies and appliances, and the many other things that new home owners need.
